This policy explains how CareerAgents (“we”, “us”) and the CareerAgents Autofill browser extension (the “Extension”) collect, use, and protect your information. It covers the Extension specifically; your use of the careeragents.ai website is also governed by it.

Website diagnostics and optional emails

We record first-party product events such as onboarding steps, upload failures, result readiness, payment prompts, and download responses to understand where people get stuck. These records may include a random 30-day visitor cookie, account ID after sign-in, campaign identifiers, and a broad device category. They do not include resume text, job descriptions, email addresses, full URLs, or IP addresses. These diagnostic records are retained for up to 90 days. This first-party collector respects the browser’s Do Not Track setting.

New accounts receive an account welcome. A one-time incomplete-task reminder is optional and off by default. You can turn it off through the link in that email or Email preferences. Separately configured calendar and goal reminders are managed in their own settings.

What the Extension does

The Extension fills out job-application forms on your behalf, in your own browser. When you open a supported job-application page and click “Autofill”, the Extension reads the form’s fields and asks CareerAgents to map your saved profile onto them, then types the answers into the page. You review every answer and submit the application yourself — the Extension never submits on your behalf.

Information we process

• Form structure of the page you’re applying on. When you click Autofill, the Extension sends the application form’s field labels and options, and the job posting’s URL and title, to our servers (careeragents.ai) so we can generate the right answers. We do not read or transmit other page content, and the Extension only runs on the supported job-board domains listed below and on careeragents.ai.
• Your CareerAgents profile and résumé. To fill the form, our servers return data you saved in your CareerAgents account (such as your name, contact details, work-authorization answers, and your résumé file). This data originates from your account, not from your browsing.
• Authentication. When you connect your account, the Extension stores a sign-in token and your account email locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) so it can talk to your account. This is stored on your device and used only to authenticate your requests.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not track your browsing history or your activity on sites other than the supported job boards and careeragents.ai.
• We do not intentionally include résumé content or application-form answers in marketing events. The website separately uses Meta Pixel for page-view, registration, and checkout/purchase measurement, and Vercel Analytics for website usage. These are separate from extension autofill processing. Service providers also support hosting, email delivery, and AI features.
• The Extension submits no application without your explicit click.

How we use the information

We use the form structure and your profile solely to generate and fill the answers for the application you’re completing, and to authenticate your requests. Form-mapping requests are processed in real time to return your answers; we don’t use them to build advertising profiles.

Permissions the Extension requests

• Storage — to keep your sign-in token and account email on your device so you stay connected.
• Host access to careeragents.ai (to reach your account) and to the supported application hosts (to read and fill the form on the page you’re applying on): Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Workday, iCIMS, Dayforce, BambooHR, JazzHR (applytojob), Teamtailor, and Jobvite.

Data retention

The token and email stored by the Extension remain on your device until you disconnect your account or remove the Extension. Profile and résumé data is retained in your CareerAgents account under your control and can be deleted from your account settings.

Your choices

You can disconnect your account from the Extension’s popup at any time, which clears the stored token and email. You can remove the Extension from your browser at any time. You can review and delete the profile data we hold from your CareerAgents account settings.
